Vacationer Dubai’s Holiday Home Fees Explained: Cleaning, Tourism Charges & Payment Methods

When booking a holiday home in Dubai, the nightly rate isn’t always the only cost to consider. Depending on the property and your stay, your total may also include a cleaning fee and the mandatory Tourism Dirham charged by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism.

At Vacationer Dubai, we aim to make these costs clear from the outset so you know what you’re paying for before your stay begins.

Here’s a breakdown of the main holiday home fees in Dubai, including how cleaning charges work, what the Tourism Dirham costs, and what you’ll need when checking in.

A breakdown of Dubai holiday home charges

The short-term rental fees Dubai guests may encounter can vary depending on the property, its size, the length of the booking, and any additional services requested.

Charge

What to expect

When is it charged?

Nightly rate

Varies by property, location, size, and booking dates

As part of your booking

When arranged

Location and property size can naturally influence the overall rate. For example, a studio among our apartments in Business Bay will be priced differently from a larger multi-bedroom property or a home with premium views and amenities.

More importantly, Vacationer Dubai does not charge guests a security deposit, so there is no separate refundable deposit to account for when budgeting for your booking.

What does the cleaning fee actually cover?

The cleaning fee included in your booking covers the check-out clean carried out after your stay. This allows the Vacationer Dubai team to prepare the property for the next arrival.

The cost varies depending on the size of the unit, as larger properties require more time and resources to prepare.

This means there isn’t one standard cleaning charge across every Vacationer Dubai property. A compact studio or one-bedroom apartment, for example, will have different cleaning requirements from a larger three- or four-bedroom holiday home.

Can I arrange cleaning during my stay?

Yes. If you’d like your property cleaned while you’re staying with us, additional in-stay cleaning can be arranged.

You can request cleaning:

  • with or without fresh linen
  • with additional towels if required
  • according to the needs of your stay

Pricing depends on the size of the property and the type of clean requested.

Your Guest Relations Executive can assist with arranging any additional cleans during your stay, so there’s no need to organise an outside provider yourself.

How do Dubai tourism fees for holiday homes work?

Holiday home guests in Dubai are required to pay a Tourism Dirham, sometimes referred to as the DTCM fee.

For Vacationer Dubai properties, the charge is AED 10 per room, per night. The amount then depends on both the size of the property and the number of nights you stay.

For example, for a 30-night stay:

Property

Tourism Dirham for 30 nights

Studio

AED 300

One-bedroom

AED 300

Two-bedroom

AED 600

Three-bedroom

AED 900

Four-bedroom or larger

AED 1,200+

So, if you book one of our two-bedroom Dubai Marina apartments for a month, the Tourism Dirham would be AED 600.

For a three-bedroom property, the same 30-night stay would attract a Tourism Dirham of AED 900.

This fee is a government tourism charge rather than a discretionary Vacationer Dubai fee.

What payment methods does Vacationer Dubai accept?

Vacationer Dubai accepts electronic payment for bookings and charges in UAE dirhams. We do not accept cash payments on arrival.

The applicable costs associated with your booking will be communicated as part of the reservation process so you can review your accommodation rate, cleaning charge and Tourism Dirham before or during confirmation of your stay.

If you have any questions about a particular charge, the Vacationer Dubai team can also clarify it before your arrival.

What identification do I need at check-in?

Guests staying in licensed Dubai holiday homes must provide valid identification for guest registration. You’ll need to have your passport or Emirates ID available when checking in.

This requirement applies across Vacationer Dubai properties, not only homes in particular neighbourhoods such as Jumeirah Beach Residence, Palm Jumeirah, or Dubai Marina.

Providing your identification details promptly helps ensure the check-in and registration process runs smoothly.

Enjoy straightforward holiday home pricing with Vacationer Dubai

Understanding Dubai holiday home charges is much easier when you know what each cost relates to.

With Vacationer Dubai, you won’t need to budget for a security deposit. Your booking will instead reflect the accommodation cost, the applicable check-out cleaning fee, and Dubai’s AED 10-per-room-per-night Tourism Dirham, along with any optional services you choose during your stay.

And if you’d like an additional clean, fresh linen or extra towels while you’re here, your Guest Relations Executive can help arrange it.
